Tulsi/Holy Basil (Ocimum sanctum ) Wild Crafted Essential Oil

Our Holy Basil is a wild crafted oil from India, where it is considered a sacred plant.  It has been used for centuries in the practice of Ayurvedic healing.  Its scent is warm, spicy and radiant and reminds me of the incense that used to be burned in the churches that I attended as a child.  It is referred to as "The Elixir of Life".  One of the virtues of Tulsi is that it is adaptive to the needs of the recipient, either uplifting or sedating, based on the needs of the individual at the time.  This is a potent oil and should be used sparingly in blends for optimal results.  Tulsi is analgesic, antiallergenic, antibacterial, antifungal, anti-infectious, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antioxidant, and antiviral.  It is very effective in relieving the itching of bug bites and actually killed mites within an hour of contact in a clinical trial.  However, when using topically this oil should be diluted to 1% to 3% to avoid skin irritation.
